Hawkeye And Ms. Marvel Will Release This Year Says Marvel Exec

Hawkeye will release before Ms Marvel

Marvel’s Victoria Alonso says that both Hawkeye and Ms. Marvel will release this year on Disney+. Alonso is executive VP of film production at Marvel Studios and she recently caught up with Variety at this years NALIP Media Summit.

As per the trade,

Alonso also noted that there are “a few other shows” that will come out before the end of the year, including “Ms. Marvel” and “Hawkeye.”

We know that both of these shows are farthest ahead in terms of production. Honestly I figured we’d get Hawkeye this year, but maybe not Ms. Marvel. I know various insiders have speculated on a November, 2021 release date for Hawkeye, and I won’t argue with their logic. I’ve not heard much in the way of Ms. Marvel release speculation though, so this is good news for Disney+ subscribers.

Hawkeye will feature the return of Clint Barton along with Hailee Steinfeld’s debut as Kate Bishop. However we also are led to believe by reliable insiders that Echo will make her debut in the show as well. Not only that, but it’s almost certain now that Florence Pugh’s Yelena will appear also. More on that from one of those reliable insiders later today.

As for Ms. Marvel it seems to boil down to Kamala Kahn’s origin story and her taking in the title of Ms. Marvel and discovering her powers. Actress Iman Vellani will be already filming The Marvels by the time Ms. Marvel hits Disney+. However as said above, we have no real speculation about the drop date of Ms. Marvel. All we know, as per Alonso above, is that it will be out in 2021.

I’ve so far enjoyed all three Marvel Studios Disney+ shows, to varying degrees. However I also hope that the negative aspects I have had will get ironed out in time, just as happened with the movie side. I feel like WandaVision and Loki were the riskier shows to make and yet far superior to the very average The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, which should have been the easiest win.
