While 2020 has turned into a tumultuous year for Hollywood, there seems to be some light at the end of the tunnel. More importantly for Disney with their two major franchises, Marvel and Star Wars, seemed to be back in full production. This Friday will see the premiere of The Mandalorian and following soon after will be WandaVision along with The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Also production for season three of The Mandalorian has started in California, the untitled Cassian Andor show in Pinewood, Spider-Man 3 in New York, and the Loki show in Atlanta. While this is all great news the problem is that other productions have to find new locations to shoot because of Covid-19 regulations. That means shows like Marvel Studios Hawkeye have to relocate to start production. According to a report from Charles Murphy, Marvel Studios will be using Tyler Perry’s Atlanta studios when it begins filming later this year.

According to the report pre-production has been ongoing for the past month with a target start of filming sometime post-Thanksgiving. With so many new regulations put in place the hope is with all projects having their own studios to film it will be easier to follow protocols. This will also limit any more delays in a series that was hoping to begin production earlier this year. The goal is for this series to be part of a heavy line-up of original Disney+ content next year to gain more subscribers. Expected to explore the fallout of the Avenging Archer’s time as Ronin, Hawkeye will introduce Kate Bishop, Maya Lopez and, most importantly, Lucky the Pizza Dog to the MCU and is also rumored to bring in classic Marvel villain Madame Masque.
