The lovable comic book store owner Stuart Bloom from The Big Bang Theory will have his own offshoot show, Stuart Fails to Save the Universe, on HBO Max.
And it’ll be nothing like the original show, The Big Bang Theory.
With its debut coming on July 23 on HBO Max, the streaming service will push for a big promotional launch in the land of geekdom at the San Diego Comic-Con International 2026.
HBO Max plans a fan-experience location in the Gaslamp District of Downtown San Diego, featuring an immersive interactive experience, a discussion panel inside the San Diego Convention Center, and an autograph signing for a lucky few.
Stuart’s The Comic Center of Pasadena Fan Experience
Attendees and locals can visit a pop-up comic book store replica of The Comic Center of Pasadena, which fans loved on The Big Bang Theory.
Inside the building, it is a different experience, an immersive experience transporting the visitor through the multiverse.

The activation brings Stuart’s The Comic Center of Pasadena to life, transforming the familiar comic shop from The Big Bang Theory universe into a portal-hopping journey through multiple worlds tied to the show. Designed as an interactive, story-driven experience, guests will move through a series of in-world touchpoints—beginning with a portal walkthrough and culminating in a reveal that challenges fans to discover their hero archetypes, with each path connected to a character from the series. Along the way, fans will encounter interactive moments, photo-ops with a replica machine from the show, plus exclusive merch and a personalized collectible takeaway.
The makeshift comic book store is located at the Sparks Gallery at 530 Sixth Avenue in Downtown San Diego.
