That’s right. You read that right. Reboot. Not remake. That likely means they’re hoping to turn this thing into a bona fide franchise. According to THR, Sony is bringing the serpentine horror back to the big screen. Even more excitingly, they say they hope to take a Meg-style approach. I honestly don’t know what that means, but I’m all for as, as the Meg was a lot of fun to watch in theaters.
Taking on the script is Evan Daugherty, screenwriter of Tomb Raider and Snow White and the Huntsman. Admittedly, this is a bit disappointing, as if they wanted to go the route of The Meg, they should have gone with the screenwriters of The Meg.

No producers or director have been attached yet, but might I recommend Jon Turtletaub in the latter role? If he’s not busy with a National Treasure 3, I think a new Anaconda will be the way to go.
If you have yet to enjoy the original film, it followed Ice Cube, J. Lo, Jon Voight, Owen Wilson (yes, that Owen Wilson) and Eric Stoltz — not to mention the guy who plays Herbert Cadbury in Richie Rich. It follows a documentary crew who ends up getting caught up in a hunt for a ridiculously large anaconda.
Is this what you want to see more of? Take the poll down below and let me know!
Is rebooting Anaconda a good idea?
