If you have been following LRM lately, you probably know we have been predicting a live-action Rebels spin-off show. First Ahsoka Tano was cast in The Mandalorian Season 2. Then, it was Temuera Morrison coming back as possibly Boba Fett and Rex, followed by Sabine Wren appearing. As yet, no name has been seriously attached to Sabine Wren, though wrestler Sasha Banks has been rumored by the fandom. Finally, just this week we had news had Katie Sackhoff was coming back as Bo-Katan in live-action. Sackhoff had previously voiced the character in animated form.

We at LRM think this is all pointed to the rumored spin-off show led by the Ahsoka character. It makes sense given all this casting news, that this spin-off show will effectively be a sequel to Rebels. Well now, one outlet is saying they have heard from sources this spin-off show is going ahead. Not only that, but FandomWire is also saying that Hera from Rebels will also be back and cast for live-action.

The outlet also claims that Boba Fett could spin-off into his own show as well. That one seems unlikely to me, given we have also heard rumor that Fett would be back in The Mandalorian Season 3 in a bigger role. Like always, this is just a rumor, and it could be based on pure guesswork. I mean, we guessed this was all going to happen, and I thought Hera would be likely to appear as well. Though, I thought since we had not heard anything, Hera might not appear in El Mando Season 2. That would mean there was no rush to cast the character at this point.

I’m not completely sold on this rumor. I find it too easy for someone to claim this guesswork as fact. However, we don’t know the outlet’s sources, and they must be happy enough with those sources to print the story. FandomWire‘s hit rate for scoops isn’t unblemished, but they’re not WGTC either? However, honestly, I think whether this rumor is genuine or not, it’s probably not far from the truth. I expect the Rebels spin-off show, and its cast to be announced at Star Wars Celebration, whenever that eventually goes ahead.
