The How I Met Your Mother spinoff, How I Met Your Father, will star Hilary Duff. Not to be confused with How I Met Your Dad, the spinoff that couldn’t even get on the screen back in 2014, How I Met Your Father will be coming to Hulu this year. The former Lizzie McGuire star, singer, and author will also be producing the project as well.

How I Met Your Mother was a very popular show. The series released in 2005 and ran for 9 seasons. I’m hoping How I Met Your Father will be more successful than How I Met Your Dad. According to IMDB trivia, the pilot episode failed and was never released to the public or shown on TV. It was set to be the spinoff of HIMYM, but CBS passed on it. It seems like the concept is going to be tried again. Another show that comes to mind that didn’t work is That 80’s Show. It only had one season and sadly, couldn’t capture the magic of That 70’s Show.

Hilary Duff has some big shoes to fill because HIMYM is a much-loved show. Many have tried to do spinoff shows and have been unsuccessful. She is also producing the Lizzie McGuire 2021 series currently and has produced projects like The Haunting of Sharon Tate and Beauty & the Briefcase. I guess we’ll have to wait and see.
