His Dark Materials Season 3 trailer is finally here. To me at least, it looks great, but then as a big fan of the books I know what I’m looking at in the trailer below. If you have only been watching the show through HBO or BBC, you may be quite confused by what you see in this trailer. Don’t worry, it all makes sense in the end.
I feel like I’ve been waiting ages for this and I’ve been a fan of this adaptation so far. Therefore considering the show was hardly super popular, I’m guessing most of the audience have forgotten this is even coming.
There are so many moments I cannot wait to see in a visual format in this Season. Some of those are teased in the trailer and some are being kept back wisely. Season 3 will attempt to adapt the third and final book of the His Dark Materials Trilogy, The Amber Spyglass.

Last we left the story, Lyra had been captured by her mother Mrs Coulter. Meanwhile, Will has just lost his father John and Lee Scoresby. However Will is still in possession of the Subtle Knife, and we will see him continue down that path laid before him by destiny. And of course Lyra will be by his side, if he can get her back (which given the shots of them together in the trailer seems obvious). Meanwhile we are going to find out just what Lord Asriel is up to, who he is rebelling against and why he’s creating an army. Though, it will be Lyra and Will who ultimately hold life and death in their hands.
I can’t wait for this one, I’ve no idea who they’ll fit it all in? His Dark Materials Season 3 premieres on both HBO and BBC on December 5th. I’ll be reviewing it once again like S1 and S2.
