Drew Pearce, known for writing credits like Iron Man 3 and the upcoming Fast And Furious Presents: Hobbs And Shaw, will be sitting in the director’s chair for the upcoming Netflix project Quartermaster. Variety reported the news early Wednesday, stating that sources claim Pearce will write and direct the film. As per Variety:
Insiders say Pearce brought the idea to the streaming service and Netflix execs were so impressed, they bought the pitch in the room and are moving quickly to cast the lead.

No information is available yet in regards to plot other than the project being a high-concept thriller. Producer Marc Platt—who worked with Pearce on his first outing as a director, Hotel Artemis—will be producing Quartermaster along with Adam Siegel (Drive, Scott Pilgrim vs The World). Casting has yet to take place for the film.
Pearce’s first big success came when he and Shane Black co-wrote Iron Man 3 together in 2013. Pearce went on to co-write the 2015 critic-adored, summer blockbuster Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation with Christopher McQuarrie. The 2018 thriller Hotel Artemis, which follows a nurse who runs a near-future secret emergency room for criminals, was both written and directed by Pearce. The film—which featured the likes of Sterling K. Brown, Dave Bautista, Jeff Goldblum, and Brian Tyree Henry—marked the acting return of Jodie Foster after a five year break.
There is no word yet as to when the project will begin production or the desired release date.
