Based on Bram Stoker’s work, House of Darkness is a re-imagining of his Dracula story with the female vampire fiends in the modern day.
As with these Vampire Sisters, they continue to lure men into their lair for the feast of blood.
The film stars Justin Long (Live Free or Die Hard, Jeepers Creepers), Kate Bosworth (21, Superman Returns), Gia Crovatin (Dirty Weekend, Billions), and Lucy Walters (Starz’s Power, EPIX’s Get Shorty). Neil LaBute (The Wicker Man, Nurse Betty) wrote and directed the movie.
Here is the official synopsis of House of Darkness:
Driving home to her secluded estate after meeting at a local bar, a player out to score thinks this beautiful, mysterious date will be another casual hook-up. While getting acquainted, their flirtation turns playful, sexy, and sinister. Hoping to get lucky, his luck may have just run out.

This is an interesting re-imagination of the original Bram Stoker’s Dracula with the survival of the three Vampire Sisters into modern society. As vampires, their techniques to lure men into their trap wouldn’t have changed for a millennium. Stoker originally wrote the story to warn the public about sexual activities and STDs in the form of vampirism.
After all these years, vampirism and sexuality remain relevant today in the fictional and non-fictional worlds.
This looks like a great re-imagination of the Dracula story with Stoker fans. Now the only surprise is whether the master vampire makes an appearance in this horror tale.
House of Darkness is in select theaters on Friday, September 9. It follows with a digital release and will be available On Demand on Tuesday, September 13.
