House Of The Dragon: Concept Art Offers First Glimpse At The Spin-Offs Fire-Breathing Friends

House Of The Dragon Will Premiere On August 21st

The highly-anticipated Game of Thrones spin-off series, House of the Dragon, has released some concept art. Dragon concept art. Our first look at the dragons from the next story set in the brutal and almost justiceless world of Westeros. I have to say, I like how the dragons are definitely set apart from Drogon, Rhaegal, and Viserion, yet you can still tell they are Westerosi dragons.

The first dragon shares a lot of similarities with those of Daenerys Targaryen, except for its reddish-brown color. You can check out the image below.

Now, the image below appears to be a totally different type of dragon than those seen on Game of Thrones. At least in Westeros. Exhibiting a gorgeous orange color, I get the sense it may belong to a smaller breed of dragons and has more bird-like qualities.

Blood Will Reign

House of the Dragon will be set 300 years before the events of Game of Thrones. The series is based on author George R.R. Martin’s novel, Fire and Blood. The series will follow

Miguel Sapochnik, who directed some of the most highly acclaimed episodes of Game of Thrones, is set to direct the pilot and will serve as showrunner along with Ryan Condal. Sapochnik and Condal will also executive produce along with George R.R. Martin. According to Jason Kilar, CEO of WarnerMedia, principal photography on House of the Dragon is set to start in the coming months.

I know the series is still a long way from premiering on HBO Max, but getting a look at these dragons has reinvigorated my love for the world George R.R. Martin has created. I’m ready, let’s do this.
