How Much Of The Batman Will Take Place In Arkham Asylum?

The news regarding The Batman continues to trickle in and if I am being honest, I’m pretty excited for it.  I understand the hesitations regarding Robert Pattinson, but I have had reservations in the past which were completely wrong, so I am willing to give him a chance.  LRM’s Michael Connally has always said that a film is only as good as its villain.  In the case of The Batman it is more like villain(s). With the likes of The Riddler (Paul Dano), Penguin (Colin Farrell), Catwoman (Zoe Kravitz), Carmine Falcone (John Turturro) and other rumored appearances such as Mad Hatter and Firefly likely to join forces, The Batman looks as if it may take a more modern and grounded take on the 1966 storytelling style.

It has been rumored that The Batman may take place inside of Arkham Asylum with Batman playing a role similar to the Arkham Asylum series of video games inspired by the comic series of the same name.  While this would be an extremely awesome route to take it doesn’t appear that the asylum will be the primary setting.

Variety released an article with a plethora of information regarding the future of DC films, and within all the information we have some clarity as to how much Arkham will feature. While there have been rumors that a good chunk of the film would take place in the mental facility, the outlet stated that only a handful of scenes would be set within its walls.

Well, that looks to debunk a majority of the film taking place in depths of our favorite penitentiary. I do have to say that I think it will be interesting to see how this film pans out.  The TV show Gotham actually became extremely entertaining once the focus turned towards the villains.  Now that doesn’t mean that Pattinson’s Batman should be a secondary character, but we do not need to see the murder of his parents again.
