The end of Game of Thrones is slowly approaching. While we only have one six-episode season left in the high fantasy series, fans can live in comfort knowing that the end won’t come until 2019, which is still over a year away.

However, while fans won’t know what to expect from the conclusion of the Shakespearean in scope epic, the cast of the series obviously have to know how things end prior to them actually filming those final scenes. This moment came during a cast table read that was described as a mix of exhilaration and depression.

Here’s what actress Sophie turner had to say about that day:

“We had the read-through a while ago and at the end of it, we were all on our feet, applauding and crying. We had everyone there, everyone who’s had any part in this. It was amazing.

“We closed the blinds and shut ourselves off from the rest of the world and had six hours in this room just reading it through and crying and laughing. We had our emotional bit and then we thought, ‘Well now we’ve got eight months. We’ve still got a while to get through!’”

Well, that certainly sounds like a good evening. Sadly, it’ll be quite some time before we get to have that same experience as the cast.

While the series is set to hit in 2019, there is currently no premiere date just yet. Once they get closer to finishing up production, we’re sure HBO will be a huge deal about it.
