Dreamworks has done a pretty solid job overall of adapting the unlikely series of children’s books for the big screen. The first one was, in my opinion, one of the best films the year it came out, only losing the Oscar for Best Animated Film because Toy Story 3 came out. Honestly, any other year, it would have been a shoo-in.

While the second film, How to Train Your Dragon 2, fared pretty well critically, maintaining the more mature sensibility established in the first movie, I personally thought it was a bit of a dud. The plot itself was fairly solid, and wasn’t afraid to go off in new directions, but it just never sat well with me, and I worried I’d be left with that sour taste in my mouth. Luckily, we’re getting a trilogy-capping film in the form of How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World.

This looks to bring an end to the epic story of Hiccup and Toothless, and in this new trailer, they sure as hell aren’t holding much back, especially if you’re afraid of spoilers. But it looks to be another bold entry int he series — one I hopes fares better than that second one. But what do you think?
