According to the latest Barside Buzz a huge star is rumored to be playing Jor-El in James Gunn’s Superman. The casting has been a mystery and many insiders have been reading a big name. Now one insider ViewerAnon, who has a good hit rate has named names. Reacting to some comments on this Reddit post ViewerAnon claims that Jor-El is being played by an actor familiar with working for James Gunn. Bradley Cooper!

When you think about it, Cooper, who played Rocket in Gunn’s Guardians movies is the perfect pick. I’m sure Cooper will do an excellent job, though we don’t know how much Jor-El appears in the film?

In the meantime folks, be careful out there among the spoilers. There’s a some Superman plot descriptions doing the rounds. I haven’t read them myself, so won’t speak to the validity of the claims. I do really want to watch this one without knowing the entire plot, for once. Pretty tricky when you write about rumors though. However, I will do my best.

I would never post full plot spoilers on LRM anyway even if they were confirmed. Little bits of exciting news like this Bradley Cooper rumor though, are fair game.

So, is this legit? Well, the source has a good hit rate, and no one is coming out to debunk it. Given there’s been test screening information come back to leakers I imagine this was not completely unknown by others. I know Jeff Sneider hinted at a big actor playing Jor-El recently though he wouldn’t say who and teased it could be someone like Tom Cruise, without saying it was.

My feeling are, as this broke over the weekend, we’d have it debunked by now if not true. With that in mind, what do you think of this rumor that a huge star (Bradley Cooper) is rumored to be playing Jor-El in James Gunn’s Superman? Thoughts below as always.
