We’ve been told by insiders and trades that Adria Arjona is not Wonder Woman in the DCU, but her recent response to being asked has me doubting, again. I think I’m possibly getting paranoid in my transition from middle-aged to seniority. It was only recently that top insiders came out to say, that Arjona is not playing Wonder Woman in Man of Tomorrow, but Maxima as the trades all said from day one.

You can see the details in the related section below, but my attitude after writing that up was, oh well, she’s Maxima and that’s a damn shame. Yet, here I am, going back down the rabbit hole a week later.

Alternatively, what happened was at a recent carpet event, Arjona was asked about whether she is Wonder Woman in the DCU? The actress joking says she’s needs to leave, walks off camera, then returns. After a moment to compose herself she gives a very well rehearsed praise of James Gunn and Peter Safran who gave Arjona her first film.

Now some fans will be saying, but that’s fine, because we don’t officially know she’s playing Maxima yet. Why not though? Everytime the trades have broken a story that actor a is playing character b for this film, director James Gunn has confirmed them soon after. With only two actors so far has he not done this. He’s welcomed th actor, but not stated which character they are playing.

Sinqua Walls and Adria Arjona. Now, rumors are that Walls is going to be playing Martian Manhunter and you can see why Gunn would like that kept quiet. However, why would he want Z list character like Maxima to be kept quiet? Its not going to spoil the film if we know Maxima is in it. Plus it was not that ling ago the trades told us Sebastian Stan was playing Harvey Dent in The Batman Part II and he’s not, he’s playing Victor Zsasz.

Am I losing it folks? Is it time to just give up on this theory? There’s just too many weird coincidental things that have happened to shout out Wonder Woman to me. I don’t think I’m going to believe it until I see Arjona dressed as Maxima in trailers or BTS. Feel free to ignore my ramblings if you think I’m reaching here folks.
