Whilst promoting Spider-Man: Brand New Day, star Tom Holland says his films will get to the symbiote and he denies Jean grey is in this film. However, I am going to get into some rumors territory after covering Holland’s quotes so for anyone who doesn’t like rumors, you already have the information you need.
You’ll need to translate the below, but essentially Holland said there’s no symbiote in this film, but that we will see that in the future.

Second up Holland is asked if Jean Grey would help with Spider-Man’s friends not remembering him in Brand New Day?
Holland said,
“She is not in this movie, but that would be pretty cool”

So what is the Barside Buzz on these claims by Holland. First off, of course Jean Grey is in Brand New Day and that’s why the interviewer asks the question, it’s so well know it’s went beyond the geek community. You can absolutley see the horror in Holland’s eyes and the Marvel media training kicking in, whereas years ago, he’d have fumbled that.
As for the symbiote? Well, bear in mind there are rumors that even if he doesn’t get it in Brand New Day, that it may be a subplot. Additionally there are rumors that Peter will don the symbiote when Holland stars in Avengers: Secret Wars after sitting out Doomsday. If those rumors are true, then it sets the stage for a symbiote focused Spider-Man 5.
Though, with this one I don’t think we’re at the stage where it’s a sure thing, so let’s see if there’s any hints of this in Spider-Man: Brand New Day as rumored.
