Hulu Passed On The Locke & Key Pilot

Sorry Locke & Key fans, today is still not your day.

Interviewing actor Samantha Mathis, Cultured Vultures asked her about her recent projects:

“I did a pilot for Hulu called Locke and Key but it didn’t get picked up by Hulu. It’s getting shopped around to Amazon and Netflix and Apple and everyone right now. Who knows, maybe that will end up some place.”

For those unfamiliar with Locke & Key, I’ll let Mathis describe it for you, as the interviewer himself was unfamiliar with the source material, asking if it was a Marvel series:

“It’s not. It’s Joe Hill, Stephen King’s son. A series of graphic of novels that are very popular dealing with a haunted house. Very popular. We’ll see what happens.”

I bet Apple snaps that up. Just a hunch. Also, because I just wrote about Apple, so it just feels right.

If you want to know even more, Locke & Key follows the Locke children who after their father’s murder move to a family home in Maine with their mother and soon discover enchanted keys that give them various special powers. Little do the siblings know that lurking in the shadows is another being that desires the mystical keys.
