The universe is once again striking us right in our entertainment-loving hearts. First, it was Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson testing positive for the Coronavirus COVID-19. Now, as that famous couple exits an Australian hospital, another popular name has joined the list.
Actor Idris Elba has revealed that he has tested positive for COVID-19 as well. The actor, known for his role as Heimdall in the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Thor franchise and Beasts Of No Nation, took to his Twitter account to reveal to his followers the news.
This morning I tested positive for Covid 19. I feel ok, I have no symptoms so far but have been isolated since I found out about my possible exposure to the virus. Stay home people and be pragmatic. I will keep you updated on how I’m doing 👊🏾👊🏾 No panic. pic.twitter.com/Lg7HVMZglZ

Like Hanks and Wilson, Elba calmly explained his situation, and explains the importance of being aware without panicking. With reports going around that there is bound to be many more cases in this nation, awareness without fear is a definite plus. It is a welcome change to the abundance of raging anxiety and discrediting cynicism.
Elba’s last appearance as Heimdall in the MCU was in 2018’s Avengers: Infinity War. Since then, he went toe-to-toe with Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham in The Fast & The Furious Present: Hobbs & Shaw, returned to investigating on the series Luthor, and made a slight wrong turn with Cats. He recently wrapped up production on James Gunn’s Suicide Squad over at Warner Bros. for the DC Extended Universe. That film is due out sometime in 2021.
