In The Fire | Conor Allyn on Amber Heard and Science Versus Faith in Horror

Amber Heard in In The Fire

For centuries, the belief in religion dominates the debate of the unexplained when it comes to mental illness versus the science behind it. The idea of exorcism is to rid of usual behaviors as a result. For the supernatural film In The Fire, science and religion will come to a climatic battle over a young boy thought to be possessed by a demon.

Here is the official synopsis:

Starring Amber Heard (Aquaman), she plays a doctor from New York who travels to a remote plantation in the 1890s to care for a disturbed boy who seems to have inexplicable abilities. She begins treating the child, but in doing so ignites a war of science versus religion with the local priest who believes the boy is possessed by the Devil and is the reason for all the village’s woes.

The film also stars Lorenzo McGovern Zaini (Save Christmas, Fiori Sopra L’Inferno). Conor Allyn directed the film that he co-wrote with Pascal Borno (Children of the Corn) and Silvio Muraglia (After the Wedding).
