The Incredibles is a great movie, and part of me, while excited for the sequel, says just let the franchise be. While Pixar has proven they can make great sequels to their original stories with the second and third installments into the Toy Story franchise, they have also produced a couple that weren’t quite up to Pixar’s standards.

The sequel is thought to be set shortly after the end of the first film, with Mr. Incredible staying home to tend to Jack Jack, while Elastigirl saves the world.

Director of the original film Brad Bird will return to write and direct the sequel. Along with Holly Hunter reprising her role as the Helen Parr/Elastigirl, Craig T. Nelson will be returning as Bob Parr/Mr. Incredible. Samuel L. Jackson will once again play Frozone, and Pixar mainstay, John Ratzenberger is back as The Underminer.
