Indiana Jones 5 SPOILERS

If you have come this far, then you probably already know that several elements of the shooting for this movie have been revealed online by various outlets. This latest piece of information comes from British tabloid The Daily Mail, however don’t let their reputation fool you here, because these images are legit. Sadly I cannot post images from this tabloid here because they own those images. So all I can do is advise you to check the link for the original source itself. If like me it pains you to click on a link for that tabloid, I’ll describe it below.

A stunt man was seen driving across the moors on  a motorbike in the dead of night. This stunt man was wearing a rubber Indiana Jones mask for the actual filming and dressed in Indy attire. What is perhaps most telling is that the mask features a non-grey version of Ford. I.e. this looks more like Indy in the image above, than anything close to what Ford looks like now. Given what details we have already shared about the Nazi’s and Bamburgh Castle, plus a bit of information that comes from a local newspaper around that area, I think we can say what is going on here.

It seems that mine and others speculation that the Indiana Jones 5 prologue is a flashback are confirmed. From what I can tell, the movie will open with Indiana Jones escaping from a German POW camp and end up with an action sequence on a train and the aforementioned motorbike scene. Likely this will be set sometime between 1941 and 1945 meaning that Ford will be de-aged digitally for this process. I’m guessing that night time scene doesn’t require much more than a rubber mask? However I’m sure Ford will have to stand in for the close-up daytime scenes.

That might give us some clues where the story will go, and it might not? We have heard Mads Mikkelsen’s villain was a former Nazi now working for NASA. Perhaps there could be some connection between the two from back during the War prologue? However there are many other ways to connect Indy’s WW2 adventures with what he is doing now, so don’t take that part to the bank. That’s purely speculation on my part.

Funnily enough, this would be the second time Jones has escaped a German prison camp on a bike. Indy did the same thing in WW1! Though, that escape was on a bicycle, but a train was involved in allowing him to get away. I wonder if James Mangold wanted to riff on that for his new movie? The scene I mention was within the Young Indiana Jones series where Indy joins the Belgian Army before America gets involved in the War.

What do you think about this Indiana Jones 5 prologue flashback? Does it sound fun, or not? Leave any thoughts below.
