Infinity War: James Gunn Again Confirms The Soul Stone Is Not With Adam Warlock

James Gunn has proven to be a man of his word. Unlike J.J. Abrams who outright lied when he said Benedict Cumberbatch was not playing Kahn in Star Trek Into Darkness, later apologizing to fans, the Guardians of the Galaxy director claims he will never tell an outright lie, but he also won’t answer all your questions.

Going into Avengers: Infinity War in three weeks, we still don’t know where the Soul Stone is (a smart move by Marvel Studios). Many fans have speculated Adam Warlock would have the Soul Stone, though, Gunn has already said that Adam Warlock will NOT appear in Infinity War, and his post-credit scene in Vol. 2 was always set-up for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.

So, Gunn had to shoot down the rumor, yet again today:

There you go. It’s now more likely that Hawkeye has the Soul Stone than Adam Warlock!

Before I end this, here is one other thing James Gunn has already clarified on Twitter:

“The Marvel Comics Tie-Ins or Preludes to films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe are NOT canon, at least in his eyes. He doesn’t consider anything from the Guardians of the Galaxy preludes to be canon with his films. Now you know! And knowledge is power!”

I really recommend following James Gunn on Twitter for all the latest updates from the writer/director.

Did you think Adam Warlock would make an appearance with the Soul Stone in Infinity War? Any ideas for where else it might be? Is it Hawkeye? Let us know in the comment section below!
