Raya and the Last Dragon will finally be in theaters and on Disney+ with premiere access on Friday, March 5th. This is the next feature film from Disney Animation. It will also be accompanied by the fantastic short film, Us Again.
During our coverage of Raya and the Last Dragon, we have explored many aspects of the film. Everything from the general storyline and amazing visuals. All the way to the important theme of trust that is everpresent in the film. This film delivers a message that could not have come at a better time. Along with that we also to know Sisu, everyone’s next favorite dragon that is going to help Raya, Kumandra, and all of us trust again.

Here is the synopsis for Disney Animation’s Raya and the Last Dragon:
Walt Disney Animation Studios’ “Raya and the Last Dragon” travels to the fantasy world of Kumandra, where humans and dragons lived together long ago in harmony. But when an evil force threatened the land, the dragons sacrificed themselves to save humanity. Now, 500 years later, that same evil has returned and it’s up to a lone warrior, Raya, to track down the legendary last dragon to restore the fractured land and its divided people.
However, along her journey, she’ll learn that it’ll take more than a dragon to save the world—it’s going to take trust and teamwork as well. “Raya and the Last Dragon” features the voices of Kelly Marie Tran as Raya..A warrior whose wit is as sharp as her blade, and Awkwafina as the magical, mythical, self-deprecating dragon named Sisu. Characters also include a street-savvy 10-year-old entrepreneur named Boun, the formidable giant Tong, and a thieving toddler Noi with her band of Ongis.

Ahead of the release of the film, LRM Online had the pleasure of spending some time with some of the creative team for Raya and the Last Dragon. Specifically directors Don Hall and Carlos Lopez Estrada. As well as writer Qui Nguyen. He was also was a big part of bringing to life the martial arts in the film. During the interview, we talk about the key theme of trust and how it worked out to be released at the right time. We also talk about the importance of the characters that travel along with Raya.
