A few months ago, AMC announced they will be making a series for Interview with the Vampire. We already know that Jacob Anderson from Game of Thrones has been cast as Louis and Sam Reid from Belle 2013 as Lestat. AMC has now cast an actor for Claudia and I don’t know how I feel about it.

Baily Bass will star as Claudia. The reason I’m not thrilled with this choice is because she’s too old. I really liked that Claudia was a child. When Kirsten Dunst starred as the child vampire, she was 11 during filming. Bass is much older than that. She was reported to be 13 in Avatar 2, which would make her 15 or 16 while filming this series. I loved how young Claudia was in Interview with the Vampire 1994. It was intense to see a tiny killer and Dunst did an amazing job. She’s such a fantastic actress. In the book, Lestat turns her into a vampire at the age of 5. Although, I think that’s just too young to cast an actor at that age in such a dark role. I will say that casting an older Claudia would make sense because children do age fast. So an age change for this series would be best, but I will miss a young Claudia.

I’m also curious about Anderson playing Louis considering how bad people of color were in the late 1700s. Maybe it will be like the series, Bridgerton, where the setting is a loose interpretation of the times. I’m fine with that. It’s a franchise about vampires. I’m not looking for complete historical authenticity. Honesty, it would be weird.
I’m looking forward to Interview with the Vampire being a TV series. We get so much information in novels and I would love for the story to be properly fleshed out. Interview with the Vampire will have eight episodes to give us an exciting story.
