It seems inevitable that at some point everyone on The CW’s The Flash is going to get superpowers. Case and point, The CW has released our first official look at Iris West played by the lovely Candice Patton in her superhero costume. Check out the image below!

She will debut this costume in an episode titled “Run, Iris, Run” in which somehow she gets Barry’s powers. So yes, The Flash will debut yet another speedster. This episode will feature Barry and Iris having to swap roles, with Iris running out to protect Central City and Barry having to sit back and manage the team from STAR Labs.

It is an interesting costume that features a mask and a white and purple design. Long time comic book fans may recognize this combination as the same one worn by the Tornado Twins, who in the comics happen to be the children of Barry and Iris and fight crime in the future. Other comparisons have also been made, like Marvel Comic’s Mockingbird after Secret Invasion. As well as the not so well received purple and white Wonder Woman outfit that she wore in the 1960’s.

Team Flash confronts a new bus meta, Matthew AKA Melting Pot (guest star Leonardo Nam), with the ability to swap people’s DNA. During a battle with Team Flash, Matthew transfers Barry’s (Grant Gustin) super speed to Iris (Candice Patton). Now, with a new threat unleashed on Central City, Barry must act as the team leader while Iris takes on the mantle of superhero speedster in order to defeat their new foe.
