Will Stranger Things Season 4 be as long as Season 2?
I don’t know why, but seeing stacks and stacks of paper can be incredibly fulfilling. There’s something magical about the tangibility of a manuscript or screenplay being plopped down unceremoniously on a desk. That’s the sign of work getting done and worlds being created. So, when I stumbled across a certain tweet from the writer’s room of Stranger Things, it was hard not to get elated. It’s been nearly a year since Stranger Things 3 hit, so we’re overdue for some real news on the world of Hawkins, Indiana.
The tweet in question was simple. It was set on a glossy table in a well-lit room. Sitting on top of the table as a stack of scripts with bent corners, all overlapping each other. You can take a look at the image down below for yourself. If you’re a paper and script whore like me, you’ll think it a sight to behold.
“Stranger Things 4: the complete season,” the tweet read.

But the most interesting part about this image isn’t just the stack of scripts or the illegible title on top. The most interesting part is the number of scripts. If you count them carefully, you may notice that there aren’t eight scripts…but nine of them. It may be a bit difficult to notice at first since the top script overlaps the second, but there is definitely nine.
Over the years, eight to ten episodes has become a standard. But two of the three seasons of Stranger Things have been eight episodes. Season 2, the only one to feature nine episodes, was widely criticized for what many felt like was its “extra” episode. As such, I’m sure this’ll face some criticism from fans who are worried they’re trying to add extra stuff to pad the episode count.
Regardless, you can count this fan as excited. Now, all we can do is hope that they’re aiming for production next year so that nothing gets delayed. At this rate though, I wouldn’t be surprised if we were looking at a December 2021 release, meaning it will have been over two years between seasons.
Are you sad they aren’t farther along the production process? Let us know how excited you are for Stranger Things Season 4 down below!
