IT’s the stuff nightmares are made of (see what I did there?). We are only a couple of weeks away from the release of IT Chapter Two and two new TV spots have recently hit, which can be seen above. There have been many Stephen King novel adaptions recently, some a far miss (Dark Tower bringing in a little over $50 million), others met with mixed reviews (Pet Cemetery bringing in approximately $54 million which is still three million less than the original in 1989), but then there was IT which grossed over $327 million and Variety spoke of the film stating, “It, the blockbuster adaptation of Stephen King’s novel about a child-eating clown, has pushed past “The Exorcist” to become the highest-grossing horror film on a domestic basis.”
With that said, there is a good amount of anticipation for the second part of the film. The first followed the novel well while taking some liberties such as changing the era the story takes place and moving towards a more chronological approach which could have received a poor reception among hardcore fans, but it clearly did not. Will the sequel be as successful? If the trailers and TV spots are anything to go by, then I would definitely say yes! The kids did such a good job in the first film and while it looks like we may have some flashbacks, the adults are clearly the focus. Will they do as well? Only time will tell, but from that cast list consisting of Isaiah Mustafa (Mike Hanlon), Jessica Chastain (Beverly Marsh), Andy Bean (Stanley Uris), Jay Ryan (Ben Hanscom), James Ransone (Eddie Kaspbrak), Bill Hader (Richie Tozier), James McAvoy (Bill Denbrough) and Bill Skarsgard reprising his role as Pennywise the Dancing Clown, they should.

I will definitely be going opening weekend to check it out! Pennywise is a close second to Michael Meyers as my favorite horror character. What are your thoughts on the TV spots and trailers?
