Bring me J Jonah Jameson…along with pictures of Spider-Man!

Without a doubt, J.K. Simmons’ turn as J Jonah Jameson was one of the more iconic things in an already-iconic franchise. In the original Spider-Man trilogy, Jameson was the crass editor-in-chief of the Daily Bugle, and for many, he is still who we all picture when we imagine the character. There’s a reason why we never saw the character at all in the Amazing Spider-Man series, and that’s because there was no way for any other actor to take on the live-action role after Simmons.

And yet, many of us waited for the character to pop up in the MCU’s own Spider-Man films. We were finally thrown a bone when he popped up at the end of Spider-Man: Far From Home. What’s more is that he was reimagined as an Alex Jones-type online conspiracy theorist. The best part of all is that Simmons was back in full Spider-Man-hating swing.

But is that all we’d get from J Jonah Jameson? Is a knowing nod all the character is good for in the MCU or will he be brought back in some capacity? Simmons spoke with Collider recently, and he had some promising words to say.

“There is a distinct chance, there have been discussions, and I’m not going to say anything definitive [laughter] because I don’t know if I’m allowed to,” Simmons teased. “But yes, I’m very optimistic that I’ll have some more J.J.J. in my future.”

Oh, snap! Get ready, because TheDailyBugle.net will be returning to the big screen…probably. Of course, Simmons couldn’t speak with any real confidence on the matter. After all, Marvel Studios would likely send in the militia to take him out if he reveals any real details. However, it’s clear there have at least been some discussion about bringing the beloved “journalist” back into the fray.
