You can catch Jake Gyllenhall as Mysterio in Spider-Man: Far From Home out in cinemas now. The veteran actor is appearing in his first comic book movie and whilst his costume looks so comic accurate and easy on the eye, it takes a lot of VFX work to make that suit look good.
Gyllenhall recently shared a video on Instagram showing just how much effort it takes to put on the Mysterio costume. Check it out.

The suit does look really good from the trailers I have seen, though as yet I haven’t caught the movie. Could we see Gyllenhaal suit up as Mysterio in future Marvel movies? Who knows, having not seen the movie yet, I have no idea where his character ends the movie at this point. Though, I do hope like Vulture they do not kill him off.

There’s an undercurrent that is true for both Spider-Man and Batman (comics) in that they never kill or finally defeat their antagonists, who always come back around again. This is one of the aspects of the Sam Raimi trilogy I didn’t like, because for me when villains come back around for a second attempt it can be far more exciting as we have built a battle of wills between Spider-Man and his enemies already. So I hope the likes of Vulture, Scorpion, Mysterio etc. all come back around again for the web-slinger to be concerned about.
Let’s just hope that Jake Gyllenhaal doesn’t hate putting on that suit too much that he wouldn’t want to come back to the role. So far he seems really happy with his involvement in Spider-Man: Far From Home and I can’t wait to see what his Mysterio character is really up to, making a big assumption he’s not on the level.
