Kevin Feige Addresses Incorrect Rumours About Spider-Man: Far From Home’s Post Credit Scenes [SPOILERS]

Spider-Man: Far From Home is currently in theaters and I for one might not be able to see the movie until next weekend instead of opening weekend like I normally would for an MCU movie. Unfortunately, that also means being exposed to mild SPOILERS such as the following story. So obligatory WARNING that MILD SPOILERS for a Spider-Man: Far From Home post credit scene are in the following article……

..

.

I will be clear that this story references only one of the post movie credit scenes from Spider-Man: Far From Home and not the other. Not having seen the movie yet I cannot tell you whether this is post-credit or mid-credit. However, let’s get to the story shall we?

Apparently prior to the movies release there were reports that the after credits scenes from Spider-Man: Far From Home had been leaked online. It now turns out that those reports were wrong. The false reports were that the old Avengers HQ in NY City had been bought by Oscorp and that this was shown at the end of the movie.

However, apparently this is not the case and whilst we do see Spider-Man swinging through the building, the sign on that building is never shown. It could be Oscorp, it could be Baxter Building, but whatever it is Kevin Feige isn’t telling yet.

“I didn’t see a sign there yet,” Feige laughed when directly asked by ComicBook.com who bought the building. “I don’t think they put the sign up. I always think the speculation fuels it, whether that speculation is correct, as it sometimes is, or if that speculation is wrong, as it often is,” Feige said. “How awesome is it seeing him swing around at the end of that movie, and with the web wings glide through a under-construction version of Avengers Tower?”

Director Jon Watts said they were initially worried when reports came out that the ‘stingers’ had been revealed, only to find out the information was wrong.

“Then it ended up being this crazy Oscorp thing,” Watts said. “I love the confidence in which that was written, like I love that because you know so much of the fun of these movies is trying to guess what’s real and what’s not and you know the idea of a completely fake rumor about this movie that’s about illusions and deceptions, like it’s really on message. You know what’s funny is when that came out I think Kevin like texted it to Eric Caroll, the producer on this and he said, ‘Oh no,’ because the headline just said, ‘Spider-Man end tag revealed.'”

Nothing too spoiler filled in this, as for me seeing Spider-Man swinging through a building is a merely a tease of what might come rather than spoiler of what will. I will have to try and stay away from the really meaty ‘in movie’ SPOILERS from this point out.

I guess the question will remain for some time yet around who has bought that tower? Personally I’d be happy with Oscorp or the Fantastic Four at this point. What about you, who would you like to see as the new owner of the former Stark Building? Share your ideas in the usual spot below web heads.
