The internet certainly loves it some crossovers. And why not? We all love things in pop culture, and when you smash them together, they can only be that much better, right? Given that today is May the Fourth, there is plenty of fun art that’s surfacing on the web, but there are a couple pieces in particular that we’d like to highlight.
Guardians of the Galaxy writer and director James Gunn recently took to Twitter to show off a couple of posters that merge two of the biggest science fantasy franchises out there: the Guardians and Star Wars.

Dayum! That’s all I have to say. They’ve done a fantastic job with these posters. Interestingly enough, while staying true to the style of the posters originally produced for Star Wars, I’d almost say the style almost fits Guardians of the Galaxy better than it does Star Wars.
With its retro stylings and replacing of the characters, it does a great job of capturing the overall essence of the films — well, maybe except the comedy. However, I could argue that the first poster could be especially effective because of how dramatic it is and how tongue-in-cheek these films are. Admittedly, with that last one, I think some of that magic is lost — but it’s a solid attempt nonetheless!
Which of these posters do you like better? Sound off down below!
