In a recent interview DC Studios boss James Gunn updates the progress on Batman: The Brave and the Bold and the Superman trailer. Fans are very eager to see the first official footage from James Gunn’s Superman. Of course Superman is the first live-action project of the new DCU and the first film in the new franchise. We also know that Batman: The Brave and the Bold is in development, as is Matt Reeves’ The Batman Part 2. Some fans have been wondering if the success of The Penguin could mean The Batman retroactively becoming the first DCU film.
However, there was never any indication this would be the case. Tonally, I just don’t see The Batman and Superman being very alike at all. When speaking with Omelete recently Gunn explained that both Batman movies remain separate and both remain in development.
“Right now we’re moving forward with Brave and the Bold, that’s happening right now and Matt is writing The Batman 2 and that’s happening right now.”

So, The Batman being in the DCU is not happening folks. It does seem like Gunn and Safran want to push ahead with the idea they have for The Brave and the Bold. Oh well, I’d have been pleased, won’t lie.
As for the Superman trailer? Well, we know from Gunn himself that the trailer is ready and currently sitting on his hard drive waiting for..? All Gunn would tell the outlet was,
“It won’t be too long.”
Can we maybe get a Superman trailer before Christmas or New Year? Sadly no rumors indicate when it will be dropped online, but I’m looking forward to seeing it.
