Jared Leto who plays Morbius for Sony Pictures thinks a Morbius/Blade crossover is possible, but is it? Morbius’ place is very hard to define in terms of the MCU. If we take Venom as an example, it’s pretty clear the movie does not take place in the MCU. However, can the same be said for Morbius? So far in trailer teases and set photo’s we have seen images of Spider-Man in Morbius. However, the most shocking reveal to me was when Michael Keaton shows up as Adrian Toomes. Toomes is the character Keaton played in Spider-Man: Homecoming, very much in the MCU.
It remains to be seen whether Venom: Let there be Carnage will have more connections to the MCU or Morbius when that arrives? Is the Sony Venom-Verse and the MCU going to merge into one? If this was under the direction of Marvel Studios, I’d be happy. I just don’t like the idea of Sony being able to make a crap film and say it’s in the MCU.

During an appearance on The Late Late Show with James Corden, Leto was asked whether a crossover with Blade (owned by Disney) could ever happen? Blade is currently in development from Marvel with Mahershala Ali set to play the Living Vampire. Here is Leto’s response courtesy of ComicBook.com.
“That is a good question, and I could see that happening in the future. I could see that happening, yeah.”
One would assume Leto is more aware of the current Sony/Marvel situation than we are. In 2019 Marvel and Sony agreed to make one more Spider-Man picture together and allowed Spidey to appear in one more team up. One must assume since then that Marvel and Sony have added onto that existing deal without making it public?
I’ll keep it simple/ If Morbius is great, I’ll welcome the character into the MCU. If Morbius is pants, I don’t want him or any of the Sony characters anywhere near the MCU. What about you, would you like to see a Morbius/Blade crossover at some point? As always leave your thoughts below.
