Jason David Frank Share Alternate Ranger Cameo for Film

Back in March we Saban’s Power Rangers hit the big screen. The classic television show turned film by Lionsgate ended up with a little over $140 million dollars worldwide. Although there were some great nostalgic moments in the film and I thought the choice of actors/actresses was decent, it could have been so much better with some changes. My biggest complaint was the way the Megazord came together, I was really looking forward to the individual Zords transform and come together piece by piece. A lot fans were really looking forward to seeing the film pay homage to the original cast. Although this film is already out on Blu-Ray and DVD I will still put out a courtesy SPOILER WARNING. Well we only got 2 of the original rangers. Jason David Frank who played Tommy the Green and White Ranger and Amy Jo Johnson who played Kimberly the Pink Ranger in the original series. Their cameo came in the very end as they take photos of the Megazord with their phones after the rangers take down Rita Repulsa and Goldar. Take a look at it below.

But there was another cameo scene that was shot that didn’t make the movie. Thanks to Jason David Frank’s Instagram we now know that they could have appeared a lot sooner in the film. During one of the scenes that took place in a cafe where Trini, played by Becky G and Kimberly, played by Naomi Scott, show off their reflexes competing for the last piece of a doughnut. During their exchange they get the attention of two other customers sitting in the cafe, Frank and Johnson who just look over. Here is the post from Frank’s Instagram.

What do you think? Which of the two did you like better? Personally I think that they made the right choice, even Frank commented on his photo that the one that was shot later was the “better one”. Although I will say that I am still disappointed that none of the other rangers made it on the film as other bystanders or even some of the school staff or something. With how it did in theaters I doubt we’ll be seeing a sequel anytime soon. Which of the two cameo scenes do you like more?
