Could we see actor Jason Isaacs return to Star Wars? Isaacs of course voiced the character of the High Inquisitor within Star Wars: Rebels. However there have been no rumors about Isaacs’ return to animated, or even live-action have there? That’s why it’s strange when Isaacs refuses to discuss anything Lucasfilm related in a recent interview with SlashFilm.
“I can’t even acknowledge the existence of Lucasfilm as a real entity. I’ve signed so many NDAs. Even having this conversation with you now I have to come round and cut your tongue out while you’re sleeping. I apologize.”
Does it not seem odd to anyone that Isaacs would still be under NDA for an animated show that finished years ago? Rebels finale aired in 2018 and here we are in 2021. That would indicate to me that he has a currently active NDA, but for what project, if any?
Given all the projects we know that are coming, there is one we know has inquisitors and that’s Obi-Wan Kenobi. LRM was able to confirm with sources that Moses Ingram is playing an Inquisitor in the show, and she does not appear to be alone. Of course, that does not mean that Isaacs is definitely appearing in Obi-Wan Kenobi, this is purely speculation on my part. This is certainly not anything we have heard through our own sources, or those of the other insiders we trust.

Yet, that does not rule Isaacs out of Obi-Wan Kenobi yet for me. It could be a secret, after all Isaac’s is a pretty big name? If not Obi-Wan Kenobi where else could Isaacs show up again? More voice work for The Bad Batch Season 2, or something like Andor are distinct possibilities given the timeline. I guess we are just going to have to wait and see how this pans out. However I’m pretty certain Isaacs wouldn’t be saying that just for a show he finished years ago.
If we hear anything else, we’ll let you know.
