Medical and crime dramas are the two top series genres on television that captivate audiences every week. The NBC series Brilliant Minds was unique in merging the worlds of medicine and invesetigative work with a team of doctors led by Dr. Oliver Wolf to unravel mysterious mind illnesses in every episode.

Zachary Quinto (Star Trek, Margin Call) leads the cast as Dr. Oliver Wolf, based on the well-known physician Oliver Sacks.

The rest of the series regulars included Tamberla Perry (They Cloned Tyrone, APB), Ashleigh LaThrop, Alex MacNicoll, Aury Krebs (Triple Threat, Leverage: Redemption), Spence Moore II, Teddy Sears (The Flash, Chicago Fire), and Donna Murphy (The Gilded Age, Disney Tangled).

Here is the official synopsis:

Inspired by the extraordinary life and work of world-famous author and physician Oliver Sacks, Brilliant Minds follows a revolutionary, larger-than-life neurologist and his team of interns as they explore the last great frontier—the human mind—while grappling with their own relationships and mental health.

LRM Online’s Gig Patta chatted with actors Alex MacNicoll and Spence Moore II about their roles, medical terminologies, research, and being on the hospital set.

Alex MacNicoll was best known for starring in the Netflix series The Society as Luke Holbrook and also in Prime Video series Transparent as Colton. He also appeared in the films The Last Rampage and The 5th Wave.

Spence Moore II started his young career in 2016 with roles in Criminal Minds and Last Man Standing. He had regular season roles in many television series, including Netflix series 13 Reasons Why as Michael, Max series Five Points as Eric Harper, Superman & Lois as Matteo Mannheim, Grown-ish as Big Boy, The Wonder Years as Bruce Williams, and as Chris Jackson in All American. On the film side, he appeared in Back on the Strip and Creed III.
