Jeff Goldblum Talks Dr. Ian Malcolm’s Future In The Jurassic Franchise

While the honor of being known as “The Jurassic Park Guy” goes to actor Sam Neill, Jeff Goldblum’s Dr. Ian Malcolm is as much a part of the franchise as Neill’s Alan Grant. LRM‘s own Gig Patta had the illustrious pleasure of speaking with the legendary actor, and discussed a possible future for his Jurassic Park character should the franchise need him in the future.

“Well, I think there’s a possibility. Who knows? If they need me or I could humbly serve in any way to contribute, I’d be thrilled to, because I’ve had nothing but great experiences all along. Rumor has it that Colin Trevorrow and Emily Carmichael are working on a script now for a movie that may come up for summer [2021]. I’d be thrilled to be part of it. But, if I’m not, everything I’ve done has left me entirely satisfied. [Laughs] It’s been such a cornucopia and delicious meal.”

Goldblum has had some of the more memorable lines in the franchise. The veteran actor has built a career playing uniquely quirky characters, and Dr. Malcolm is no different. Personally, I would welcome a Goldblum return in the future Jurassic World films, and I think you would be hard-pressed to find someone on the other side.
