Jennifer Beals Didn’t Know She Was Filming The Book Of Boba Fett

The Book Of Boba Fett Mysterious Wookiee Explained SPOILERS

Making her debut in the opening episode actor Jennifer Beals didn’t know she was filming The Book of Boba Fett. Beals revealed the detail in a recent interview with Variety. Asked if she knew her character’s story before filming Beals responded:

“Are you kidding me? I mean, I knew about the character. But this is how good they are at the lockdown of secrets: Even when I first stepped onto the set, I didn’t realize that I was in “The Book of Boba Fett.” I just knew that I was getting to be part of this story.”

Just so we are clear though, Beals absolutely knew she was making a Star Wars show, I get the impression she might have figured initially it was for The Mandalorian though based on this comment.

“As it happened, I didn’t know about “The Mandalorian” really, either. My older brother called me and said, “I’m going to go watch ‘The Mandalorian’ with [my] kids.” And I said, “Oh, tell me about ‘The Mandalorian,’” and he started telling me about the show and how great it was. And I walked into the house and the phone rang and that was the offer [for “The Book of Boba Fett”]. So that night, I started watching. I was just gobsmacked. It just was so beautiful with so cinematic and heart-centered at the same time.”

I’ll guess when Beals got that call they didn’t tell her the name of the show, because at that point it was still secret? Certainly Beals inclusion the show remained a secret.

“I wanted to tell everybody and I couldn’t tell anyone,” she says to Variety in her first interview about the show.

One wonders if Beals has a recurring role in Season 1 of The Book of Boba Fett? I guess we shall see.

There you go, Star Wars is so secretive that Jennifer Beals didn’t know she was filming The Book of Boba Fett. Sound off below as always.
