Jesse Eisenberg Unsure About His Future As Lex Luthor

The DCEU has definitely been a mess compared to the well oiled machine that MCU. A lot of films have had mixed reviews at best, with Patty Jenkin’s Wonder Woman as the exception. Also it does not help that they have had changing executives over at Warner Bros. as well as entering and exiting writers and directors on certain projects. Even some of the actors are unsure about their future in the DCEU.

For example, Jesse Eisenberg, who debuted as Lex Luthor in Batman V Superman Dawn of Justice and had a post credit appearance in Justice League. At the premiere for the film The World Before your Feet, where Eisenberg is listed as a producer, he talked about the film as well if he will be playing Lex Luthor again in the future to Variety.

“I hope so. I mean, I have no idea is the truth. I love playing the character. Probably in terms of movie acting, it’s the most enjoyable character I’ve had the opportunity to play. So I would love to do it again. But I don’t know what their slate is. If you have any pull, please use it.”

It looks like Eisenberg enjoyed playing Luthor. With that said it is alarming to know that at up to this point the future slate of the DCEU is up in the air. Especially after appearance in the Justice League hinting at the Legion of Doom. Also in the conversation, he confirms that he did not have a bigger role in Justice League, just the after credits scene.

Although I liked his more modern Google tycoon take on the character, a lot of fans did not. It will be interesting to see what the executives at Warner Bros. decide to do with the character and the DCEU in general.

What do you think of Eisenberg’s Lex Luthor? Would you want to see him again in a future film? Let us know in the comment section below!
