Jessica Jones Final Season Trailer: Someone Wants Jessica To Die

This month will mark the end of an era. After a handful of years of mostly-excellent content, the partnership between Marvel and Netflix will pretty much be dissolved. Jessica Jones was the final Defenders series to get the ax, and it was canceled after its production was already finished. Now, with the release of the new trailer, we have a taste of the final season to come — and I have to say, it looks pretty awesome.

The latest trailer shows Jessica Jones pretty much under attack from a mysterious new foe. He chastises her for the advantages she’s had, and how she still hasn’t managed to be a true hero. His goal? Of course, he wants to kill Jessica Jones.

Like the first season, this one looks to be more of a psychological-type thriller, with the villain playing mind games. Jessica states in the trailer that he’s smarter than all of them. Even cooler is that this villain is attacking her greatest weakness as a character — that she has no faith in herself as a hero. Should she actually overcome this flaw in the season to become the hero the city deserves, it could make for the perfect ending.

Maybe I’m jumping the gun here, but something tells me this guy is purposely trying to push her into being a better person. We’ll have to wait and see. Also, Hellcat fans will be happy to see Trish is taking one step closer to becoming her superhero alter ego, so maybe she’ll dive fully into that identity before the season is up.
