We all have our relationships with our phones. Some more than others.
Jexi takes it to the next level. The film follows a phone app having a mind of her own as she supports and stalks a lonely single man in San Francisco.
The film stars Adam Devine (Workaholics, Pitch Perfect), Alexandra Shipp (X-Men: Apocalypse, Dark Phoenix), Rose Byrne (Spy, Insidious), Ron Funches (Trolls, Once Upon a Time in Venice), Charlyne Yi (This Is 40, Knocked Up), Michael Pena (American Hustle, Crash), and Wanda Sykes (Monster-in-Law, Ice Age: Continental Drift).
Jexi is written and directed by the team of Jon Lucas and Scott Moore (Bad Moms, 21 & Over).
Here’s the short synopsis of the film:
Phil (Devine) has a major dependency issue—he’s addicted to his phone. He has no friends. He has a job writing pop culture “Top 10” lists. His love life is non-existent. But his Facebook status is about to change. When he is forced to upgrade his phone, the latest model comes with an unexpected feature…..Jexi (Byrne). She’s an AI life coach, virtual assistant and cheerleader. With her help, Phil begins to get a real life. As he becomes less dependent on his phone, Jexi’s artificial intelligence morphs into a tech nightmare determined to keep Phil all to herself, even it means ruining his chances of finding success.
