Joe Manganiello On Joining The #ReleaseTheSnyderCut Movement With Deathstroke Photos

Even after many thought that the rumored Snyder Cut was dead and would never see the light of day, Snyder released photo evidence of the actual film footage labeled “Z.S. JL Director’s Cut” which our own Jammer reported on earlier.  While this has once again sparked the interest of many who want to push for the cut to be released, Joe Manganiello has joined the likes of Ben Affleck and Galdot in taking to social media with #ReleaseTheSnyderCut.

As most know, Manganiello was reduced to a minor cameo at the end of Justice League, but was expected to be the primary villain in the Affleck film, Batman, with probable appearances in other DC films.  With Justice League turning out to be a box office failure, and the eventual scrapped Affleck Batman film, Manganiello realized that his Deathstroke would unfortunately not make it to the big screen in the way he thought.  He did give the fans a small sample of what we are all missing via his Instagram.

In an interview with EW, Manganiello spoke about the Snyder Cut and why he released the photos.

“‘I don’t know who started that,’ Manganiello says of the #ReleaseTheSnyderCut hashtag that was trending on Twitter on Nov. 17. ‘Because of the cancellation of Batman and the various other projects that my character was going to be in, I never got to release them.'”

“I honestly wanted to stop talking about it. I don’t really like talking about things that didn’t happen. I have a ton of photos from the set photographer that were never going to be released that were sitting on my computer. One day I thought, if I don’t put them out now they’re never going to come out. I might as well get them out to the public.”

His Deathstroke looks like it would have been pretty badass and I am sad we never got to see it come to fruition.  But with the revelation from Snyder earlier today, could it be a possibility that we will get to see more of Manganiello’s Deathstroke with the Synder Cut that truly does exist?  I am on board with Jammer, and many others, that even if it is storyboard material and unfinished footage, it would still be interesting to see what Snyder’s vision was and what Justice League we could have had.
