Joe Penna Talks Lifeboat Scenario in Space for Netflix’s Stowaway [Exclusive Interview]

Stowaway - Joe Penna

Space agencies around the world will have a contingency plan for anything that can go wrong with space flights from accidents to fires or other anomalies. For Netflix’s Stowaway, the situation is relatively simple with a fourth person accidentally boards a spacecraft for Mars that is intended for three persons.

Then it becomes a lifeboat scenario for survival. Who lives? Who dies? Is there any way to help every survive?

Here’s the official logline:

On a mission headed to Mars, an unintended stowaway accidentally causes severe damage to the spaceship’s life support systems. Facing dwindling resources and a potentially fatal outcome, the crew is forced to make an impossible decision.

The cast includes Anna Kendrick, Daniel Dae Kim, Shamier Anderson, and Toni Collette. Joe Penna directed the movie from a script written by Penna and Ryan Morrison.
