British actor John Boyega has been moving up the ranks of Hollywood ever since he broke out in Star Wars: The Force Awakens as ex-stormtrooper, FN-2187, who is now better known simply as Finn. Boyega can next be seen in the Pacific Rim sequel, Pacific Rim: Uprising. Boyega seems a viable option to get involved in one of the two major shared superhero universes, and many fans have suggested that Boyega would be great as the vampire hunter Blade or the Green Lantern John Stewart. The actor recently spoke with ScreenRant and was asked about the possibilities of taking up the mantle of a superhero.

When asked if he would be up for joining either the Marvel Cinematic Universe, or DC’s shared superhero world Boyega responded:

“I mean, yeah! I mean, that wouldn’t be a problem. I just don’t know who.”

The choices of the characters Blade and Green Lantern John Stewart were poised to Boyega.

“They’re doing a Green Lantern? (Negatively groans) Sss… Hmmm…Eghhh… (Laughs) And Wesley, man. That’s Wesley for Blade. I would want to see Wesley.”

I think Boyega would be great as either of the characters. For one, he is young enough where he can play the character for the foreseeable future, another is, I think he is a really good actor. I am sure he is just showing respect but Snipes is simply too old to play Blade now, while I think a cameo from him is inevitable in any future Blade film.

You can’t blame Boyega for the groans at the thought of a Green Lantern movie, as DC really messed that one up. Though if done correctly, Boyega as John Stewart could erase that bad memory and bring the character back into the good graces of fans.
