John Cena On Peacemaker Series And Black Adam: Cena vs The Rock In The Future?

James Gunn describes Peacemaker as both a prequel and sequel to The Suicide Squad

The Suicide Squad hits theaters on August 6 and many of us are excited for the wait to be over. James Gunn has been the writer of so many great projects so I’m looking forward to watching it. The trailers have been amazing, his movies have been amazing, so I’ve got a feeling The Suicide Squad will be amazing. Gunn will also be writing the spinoff series from the character in the film, Peacemaker, played by John Cena. Cena recently discussed in an interview with ComicBook.com about Gunn, the upcoming series, and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s Black Adam.

John Cena discusses James Gunn, the Peacemaker series, and Black Adam

When talking about Gunn and the Peacemaker series, John Cena shared:

Well, you have the same writer, the same creator. James directed a lot of episodes, and certainly, he’s involved heavily with production, so I think if you like what you see in The Suicide Squad, you’re going to be able to lean into more of those moments on HBO Max with Peacemaker.

When asked who would win in a showdown, Peacemaker or Black Adam, Cena wasn’t sure:

Please tell me what his answer is. You know me. Ready, willing, and able. And answering the phone whenever it rings. I’m good. I think that the excitement is starting to build with fans, whether you talk about the conversation of Fast, or you talk about now the DC Universe. I don’t want to say we’re on a crash course and it’s inevitable. I want to because I’m a fan. But we’ll see. We’ll see what happens. Tell me what he says.

It would be a lot of fun to see these former WWE fighters go head to head again. Also, it’s great that the rivalry is over and they are now friends. The Peacemaker series will be released on HBO Max in 2022.

What do you think of the Peacemaker series coming out? Let me know in the comments.
