As we reported previously, actor Jonah Hill was in talks to join the upcoming anticipated DC film The Batman, starring Robert Pattinson. Initially, the actor was reported to be requesting $10 million to play an unknown villain (either the Riddler of the Penguin), and negotiations pretty much started there and continued.
Sadly, it doesn’t look like it was meant to be. Variety reporter Justin Kroll took to Twitter to share the news with his followers in quite the minimalist fashion.

As sad as it is, I’m sure it’ll all be fine. At the end of the day, you don’t need big names to sell Batman. You need a great story and performances, and while Hill would likely have given a great one, it probably wasn’t worth the cost. Maybe give it to someone a little lower profile and hungrier.
