Jonathan Majors and his trainer Jamie Sawyer talk becoming ‘Warrior’ Kang for his next appearance in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. The previous version of the character we have met already, He Who Remains, was not a warrior and he warned Loki and Sylvie about far worse versions of himself. Well, it looks like that’s who we will be meeting in the third Ant-Man movie.

“He is the warrior version of Kang, so there was a focus on what that warrior would look like who’s been around through the ages and has developed every type of combat skill,” says Sawyer. “It was about making him look like an imposing figure.”
Majors also spoke about his transformation for this version of Kang and why he felt it was important to put the work in.
“I look at Kang and I go, Okay, cool. It’s a certain IP where people expect this at a bare minimum,” says Majors. “No one should put themselves or their families in a place where they’re hurting, but your own discomfort is not necessarily a bad thing. That’s growth. It’s not comfortable, but you’re here to save the world, aren’t you? Or take over the world.”

Majors next project after Quantmania also happens to be Creed III where he plays the antagonist, so getting ready for Kang was in a way preparation to get ready for the next movie after that.
“I’ve always been athletic, but these are body roles—where the body is part of the given circumstances,” he says. “Creed taught me things about my craft, my body, and the marriage of the two. There’s levels to this shit.”
Cannot wait to see Majors suit up as Kang for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. Then after that we still have Avengers: The Kang Dynasty to look forward to.
