Jonathan Majors Denies Loki Involvement But Is He Being Truthful?

According to Deadline's Justin Kroll, don't expect a Kang recast announcement anytime soon.

Jonathan Majors denies Loki involvement? Ok, here is where this is coming from. We already know that Majors is going to be in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. To be honest, there has been no big secret about his involvement in that movie. The rumor mill, i.e. very good MCU sources, has said Majors will play Kang the Conqueror within the movie. You can probably already see some of the potential connections to Loki. Kang is a time traveler from the future, and some characters within the TVA are known comic book associates of Kang.

There have also been rumors from the usual suspects saying they think Majors may actually make his MCU debut within Loki, not Quantumania. I don’t think as yet I have heard any reliable leakers say with 100% certainty Majors is in Loki, but many I trust seems to think it’s likely based on what they have heard. However, when pressed on the question recently in an interview with Variety, Majors denied any involvement in Loki.

As for speculation that he may pop as Kang the Conqueror in “Loki” on Disney Plus, Majors doesn’t blink. “I have no idea what you’re talking about,” he says.

Now, this could simply be a case of Majors lying, after all, he’s an actor. As we have found out before and will continue to find out going forward, actors lie about the MCU. Marvel wants to try and maintain some surprises, and we keep finding out things too early for their liking. The cat was already out the bag for Majors in Quantumania, so no point in denying that. However if Kang makes his debut in Loki, that would be a big surprise for fans. It could also simply be that Majors really is going to make his debut in the next Ant-Man movie and there is nothing to this story?

My guess, based on two episodes of Loki, is that Majors will show up at the end. I believe Kang is the Timekeepers, or perhaps only one of the three. Kang’s story in comics often had him trying to make sure the future happened as he wanted it to, with him in charge. What better way to ensure such a thing than creating the TVA to make sure any branching timelines were eliminated? Loki has already begun to ask the questions we would, and yet Mobius doesn’t feel the need to. It’s also revealed this week that Mobius has never met the Timekeepers, but his boss has. Guess what? It’s that character (Renslayer) who has the comic book connection to Kang.

I see a pattern forming, don’t you? However all we can really report on is that Jonathan Majors denies Loki involvement. But if I’ve learned one thing over the years, it’s never to trust an actor when they deadpan tell us they are not in a movie or show. Jury’s out, leave any thoughts you have below.
