Many audiences (this writer included) likely didn’t really know what to expect when it was revealed that comedic actor Jordan Peele would be dipping his toes into the world of directing. Most alarming was that his directorial debut wasn’t a comedy, but a horror film.
Of course, we all know what happened next. The movie, Get Out, ended up being one of the biggest surprises of 2017, becoming a cultural phenomenon in addition to being critically praised. For his next film, all eyes will be on him, and now, we have our first peek at his next movie, Us, in the form of a poster.

It’s a pretty cool image, I must admit. In the visual department alone, it does feel very in-keeping with the what we’ve seen in Get Out (though I can’t quite put my finger on it). The image shows a person dressed in red, one knuckle-less, fingerless glove gripping a pair of golden scissors.
I don’t know how this will tie into the plot, but I am intrigued. From what we know so far, the story revolves around a family whose vacation interrupted by a group of “shocking visitors.” We also don’t really know under what circumstances things go awry, but I’m intrigued enough to keep asking questions.
What do you think of this first image? Is it eerie enough for you? Let us know down below!
Us hits theaters on the ides of March, 2019.
