Jurassic World 2 Gets An Official Title & Poster

A couple years back, Jurassic World hit theaters and set the world on fire. Whether your liked the film or not, there’s no denying that it reinvigorated the long-dormant franchise. No, it may not have had the film gravitas of the original Jurassic Park, but when all said and done, it brought the popcorn movie thrills, and generally pleased the mainstream audiences. The film has since gone down as the fourth highest grossing flick of all time.

Since then, we knew that not only a sequel, but an entire franchise resurgence was inevitable. It wasn’t long before it was confirmed that a June 2018 release was confirmed, but in true studio style, the name of the film was kept under wraps. For the life of me, I still don’t understand the reason behind keeping the names secret. Perhaps it has to do with spreading out the hype for the film over a longer period, or maybe they just take a long time to come up with the names.

Regardless, Universal Pictures has released the official title and poster for Jurassic World 2. Check it out below:

So Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom is the title they settled on for this movie. Perhaps even more of note is the familiar tagline on the poster that reads “life finds a way.” We look forward to seeing what this fallen kingdom is, but more than anything, I’m looking forward to seeing just how they plan on working Jeff Goldblum’s Ian Malcolm into the story.

We have one year to find out.

Here’s a description of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom:

“With all of the wonder, adventure and thrills synonymous with one of the most popular and successful franchises in cinema history, this all-new motion-picture event sees the return of favorite characters and dinosaurs—along with new breeds more awe-inspiring and terrifying than ever before.  Welcome to Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom.

“Stars Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard return alongside executive producers Steven Spielberg and Colin Trevorrow for Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment’s Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom.  Pratt and Howard are joined by co-stars James Cromwell, Ted Levine, Justice Smith, Geraldine Chaplin, Daniella Pineda,

“Toby Jones, Rafe Spall, while BD Wong and Jeff Goldblum reprise their roles.

“Directed by J.A. Bayona (The Impossible), the epic action-adventure is written by Jurassic World’s director, Trevorrow, and its co-writer, Derek Connolly.  Producers Frank Marshall and Pat Crowley once again partner with Spielberg and Trevorrow in leading the team of filmmakers for this stunning installment.  Belén Atienza joins the team as a producer.”
